Family story 2004-2008

Living at Tzamarot, Herzlia

Kai celebrated his bar mitzvah in Israel in 2005. Chaim, all 4 brothers and families and Talia’s family from Tel Mond all assembled for the event. (Lianne came at the last minute). Some of us travelled to Eilat for some time after spending a night in Mitzpe Ramon.

Fanny’s cousin, Gabriella had immigrated to Israel from Uruguay and we spent much time together with her, Javier her husband and their children.

In March 2006, Chaim experienced a stroke and died In June the same year in Johannesburg. The brothers reunited when he was hospitalised and then later, again, for the funeral. When visiting him in hospital, the first time, he reacted when he saw me but afterwards showed no signs of communication except perhaps when we played music to him. I feel that he did not want to carry on living and that we failed him in this. As a result of my participation in Landmark Education I did complete with him before his stroke. I am grateful for this.

Liad continued her studies at Bezalel while Yaniv discontinued his.

After crossing the Atlantic Ocean doing a yacht delivery, Yaniv began a career in Yacht Skippering, starting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Tahel was drafted into a kernel of the Nachal Corps of the IDF. This entailed becoming part of a group living and working on Kibbutz Sde Boker and being involved in educational schemes in the Mitzpe Ramon. The ties and relationships created in the group are still strong today.

Yaniv met Darcy while skippering and both came to Israel when my cousin Michael offered Yaniv a job on his boat, the Argenthom, then in the Mediterranean.

I visited family in Montevideo while on a business trip to South America.

Adam and Iris were married at Palmachim in October 2008.
