1969, A new way of seeing

While crossing a stream, the Ricoh camera and myself stepped into a deep hole in the Magaliesberg mountain range. The camera was ruined (the film survived). My father gave me a  35mm SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera to replace it.

It was responsive and spontaneous, something like an extension of the hand and eye, enabling a new way of seeing.
