Maale Hachamisha, Golden Beach and Tzamarot, Herzlia
We left the kibbutz and went to live at 121 Golden Beach, living there until 1995. It was a bit difficult for us at first having come from a rather sheltered kibbutz life but Fanny found work quickly and I landed a great job at Scitex some 6 months later. (See Work album).
Lily died in 1991. I regret not being close to her in her last years. Chaim and Lily visited Israel at least once a year but we never really talked and there is much that we missed out on. Her mother, Sima died in 1993 and outlived Max, and their 3 children.
Life was good at Golden Beach. The common pool was a few meters from our door and played an important part in our life style.
The first Gulf War occurred during this period.
David, my brother, had started windsurfing and I followed his lead. Being close to the Sea, all three kids attended Sea Scouts. Fanny and myself also joined the Sea Scouts parent’s club and I eventually received my Skipper’s licence in 1998.
We travelled all over the country on weekends and holidays.
We also visited Cyprus, Greece and England.
