DCB II, Volare & Cantare

1996 – Leaf Catchlight
This back was similar to the DCB II but had a color sensor and was able to capture a color image in one shot. This was achieved by covering each pixel with a tiny red, green or blue filter in what is called a Bayer Pattern.
In this year, the Leaf, Boston factory was moved completely to Herzliya, Israel.

1998 – Volare
The Volare had a B&W sensor and like the DCB1 used a filter wheel with RGB filters to enable 3 shot color images of 6MP. The size of the Phillips sensor was 24x36mm (full-frame 35mm format).

1999 – Cantare and Cantare XY
The 6MP Cantare could take 1 shot color images and the XY model, 1, 2 and 3 shot color images. This was enabled by movement of the sensor one pixel horizontally or vertically between shots.
These and the Volare back had rotating sensors. Flicking a lever switched between portrait or landscape mode. These backs could be mounted on several different makes of medium and large format cameras.
